There are
times in all of our lives when we wonder if we are going insane. Sometimes
we question if we can take much more and we think that if things get any
worse we could totally crack. Maybe it's a relationship problem, maybe it's
a work problem or maybe everything seems to be OK and you still feel like
your losing it.
Whatever it is when you hit this point it is a horrible place to be. At this
point it can seem like your life's not real at all and that it is almost
like you're in some type of a movie where you want to wake up and find that
everything is OK again. If you've had this experience you'll know what I'm
talking about. Thoughts about going into the local mental hospital or even
committing suicide can come into your awareness. At this point you are
looking for a way out and usually on the outside you can appear totally fine
but inside you feel like you are crumbling. All common sense has left you at
this point and the conscious mind is running riot.
But wait, haven't you been here before? Haven't you had the same awful
feelings before and pulled through it? Yes you have, you have been this low
before when you thought that your life couldn't get any worse but you
soldiered on and it eventually improved. You've been this depressed before
but in time it lifted didn't it. Something happened to change your
perception and you got back on the right track again. The same WILL
happen again.
Even if this
is the first time you have ever felt this way do not despair. You must take
control of your thought systems again. You do that with the correct
knowledge of how to do that. Thought Re-training and the other techniques
outlined in The Principles of Life book will help you to do that.
I am here to tell you that as low as you may think you may be, as down as
you think you are, even as mad as you may think yourself to be, in time it
will pass and when you reflect back to it you will wonder what all the fuss
was about. At this point you will probably wonder how you could have been so
affected by things. You see when we change our perspective then we see
solutions to problems. To have less of these encounters we must to more time
for mental relaxation as this allows the subconscious wisdom to surface.
Leave it out at your peril!
We often feel as if our sanity is balanced on a knife-edge and that one more
thing could push us over the edge. If you have ever felt like this take
comfort in the knowledge that with this presence of mind you could never go
mad.
