A guy I spoke to the other day told me that he had read my book and that
it was “very interesting”. To that I asked him had it made a difference
to his life. To that he said yes but then he started going off a tangent that
didn’t make a lot of sense. For about five minutes he went on about
many different things relating to the book and other things that completely
lost me.
You see although this guy read the book he did not apply the knowledge. He
merely intellectualised it, which is not the same. Many people understand
books intellectually but do not apply the philosophies in order to benefit
from the information. This guy was still predominantly a conscious mind thinker.
I have found there are basically three types of people who read my book.
The first types are the ones who will read it and then internalise the information
into unconscious knowledge and begin to live by the principles outlined. They
understand it as the common sense truth and live by the principles either
by using them unconsciously or with conscious effort.
The second type are the people looking for answers when often the answers
are right in front of them. These are the people who when even faced with
answers to their questions they do not accept them and go even further looking
for something else. They don’t believe that something as simple as following
the common sense principles of the book could work so they keep on looking.
They are on a never-ending search for the “meaning of life”.
The last type are the ones who already think they know the answers but read
it anyway to further broaden their knowledge even though they think they know
it all and don’t need it. These types read it and think they already
new it but fail to realise that as the book contains a lot of simple common
sense they think they already new it.
When speaking to people I can always tell which personality type they are
whether that be the first, second or third type of personality. The way people
speak and the language they use is a dead give away. The first types speak
with wisdom while the second and third types just talk rubbish.
